The wind of change Maxim Dunaevsky

Music that sounds. And pulls you by the invisible threads, makes you respond, swing in time, drumming your fingers on the table, softly humming under your breath or almost screaming, in company, in the whole neighborhood: “It’s time, let’s rejoice in your age …” Let’s rejoice or be sad. We laugh or cry. Let us think, freeze, listening to infinity. Real, pure emotions are awakened by the music of Maxim Dunaevsky. Always complex, non-trivial, it frames words filled with meaning.

“Call me, call” – the anthem of a strong woman, “33 cows” – adults fool around and fall into childhood, the philosophical “Wind of Change”, which is sounded every year with new voices in KVN. More than 30 musical films, loved by the audience: “D’Artagnan and the Three Musketeers”, “Carnival”, “Oh, vaudeville, vaudeville …”, “Automobile, violin and dog Klyaksa”, “Mary Poppins, goodbye!”. What about the cartoon hit Flying Ship? How much humor, enthusiasm, life!

Maxim Dunaevsky was born in the year of the Great Victory, 1945, in the family of composer Isaac Dunaevsky and ballet dancer Zoya Pashkova, although the birth certificate in the “father” column was a blank for many years: the marriage of parents was not registered. He studied music in total for 17 years: at school, college, conservatory. He mastered several specialties at once: piano, conducting, composition and music theory.

“I sat at the piano without much pleasure, although I loved to improvise, to improvise since childhood. Without a teacher, without a stick. This apparently showed the first shoots of the creative profession. He did not become a performer, but became a composer. Dad, seeing my reluctance to play music, did not particularly insist on this. I took up music only when I found it necessary. It was already after the death of my father, when I was 10 years old. Then there was silence in the house. And, probably, this emotional shock played its role – I was really consciously drawn. Then I told my mother that I wanted to be a musician. ”
Maxim Dunaevsky
In his youth he wrote symphonies, among his compositions there is a concert for orchestra, a cantata for choir, sonatas, cycles of romances. Maxim Dunaevsky could well become a composer writing classical works. But he turned from the wide academic road to the theater, met Mark Rozovsky, Ilya Rutberg and Albert Axelrod, the MSU student’s theater “Our Home”, and disappeared. He began to write for the stage, and later for the movie.

He was the conductor of the Yevgeny Vakhtangov Theater and the RSFSR State Variety Orchestra, the music director of the Moscow Music Hall and the theater studio of a musical drama. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Maxim Dunaevsky lived for some time in America, where he also composed music. Returning to Russia, he continued to cooperate with domestic directors. He is the author of the music for the TV series “The Border. Taiga novel “,” Cliffs. The song is a lifetime. ” On the TV channel “Culture” led the program about the operetta “With a light genre!”, Participated in the project “People’s Artist” as a jury member.

Dunaevsky’s favorite work, in his own words, is the musical “Mary Poppins, Goodbye!”. Natalya Andreichenko, the composer’s wife at the time, starred in the role of “perfect perfection” as a nanny. In total, Maxim Isaakovich was married seven times. And only in the last marriage, as he says, he finally realized that he had to work hard on family happiness. A change of wives – wasted labor. Yes, and like in the song: “Thank you, life, thank you for everything!” And although the current wife Marina was born under the complex sign of a scorpion, and Maxim himself is a temperamental person, they are not going to divorce. In total, the composer has three children.

“Maxim is an open, noble person, very melodic. And his main strength is in the wealth of intonation. Few people notice this amazing capacity intonation. And because of this, his songs are so long-lived and so energetically strong. ”
Vladimir Dashkevich
Maxim Dunaevsky himself is “energetically strong”. Surprisingly young, full of energy and creative ideas, not disappointed in life, he does not sum up and does not look down, just lives and creates, as before. Just finished a new work – the opera “The Overcoat” by Gogol. In the anniversary year there will be a tour: Russia, Belarus, Germany, Israel, which will end with a big concert in the summer.
